1. Overview of the Research
The purpose of this research is to develop and evaluate Watch Word Image (WWI), an English vocabulary learning support system that uses AI-generated images.
WWI is a system that uses AI-generated images to support learners' understanding of English word meanings. In this research, participants will use WWI, and the researcher will examine its usefulness, usability, and learning experience in English vocabulary learning.

2. Participation Details
If you agree to participate, you will complete the following activities on the WWI system:
- Create an account
- Enter brief background information, such as TOEIC level and prior knowledge of vocabulary items
- Study English vocabulary
- Study vocabulary using AI-generated images or a traditional vocabulary learning method
- Take tests after learning
- Provide ratings and feedback about AI-generated images and the learning experience
3. Voluntary Participation and Right to Withdraw
Participation in this research is completely voluntary.
You will not experience any disadvantage if you do not agree to participate. Even after agreeing to participate, you may stop participating at any time. There will be no disadvantage if you withdraw from the research.
If there are any questions you do not wish to answer or any tasks you do not wish to complete, you do not have to answer or complete them.
4. Expected Risks and Benefits
No major risks are expected from participation in this research.
However, because you will study English vocabulary and take tests, you may feel some fatigue or slight burden when dealing with difficult words.
By participating, you may have an opportunity to practice English vocabulary. The results obtained from this research may also help improve WWI and contribute to the development of future English learning support systems and vocabulary learning materials.
5. Data to Be Collected
In this research, the following types of data may be collected:
- Background information entered when creating an account
- Records related to the vocabulary items studied
- Records related to the display, selection, and evaluation of AI-generated images
- Usage records, such as learning time and response time
- Test results after learning
- Feedback about the learning experience
These data will be used to evaluate WWI's learning support functions and to improve the system.
6. Data Handling and Privacy Protection
The data collected in this research will be used only for research purposes.
Participants' names and signatures will not be collected. Research data will be handled in a form that does not directly identify participants. When necessary, data will be managed using a system ID or participant code for each participant.
The collected data will be managed securely, and only the researcher and the supervisor will have access to them. If the research results are presented or published, they will be reported in an aggregated form so that individuals cannot be identified.
The data will be stored for up to five years after the completion of the research and will then be deleted securely.
7. Use of AI-Generated Images
In this research, AI-generated images will be used to support English vocabulary learning.
Participants will study English words while viewing the displayed AI-generated images and will evaluate whether the images help them understand the meanings of the words.
The images used in this research will be prepared for educational purposes and checked for appropriateness before being used in the research.

There is no monetary compensation for participating in this research.
